Tuesday, February 25

Wow!  I would like to send a big "Thank you!" out to all the parents have sent me an email or phone call today asking what they could do to assist in focusing their students at home!  If you were one of those parents, I will be contacting you this evening! I will assure you that the students were also very focused on education in the classroom today.  We are working on three main learning objectives this week:

1. Meeting our Lexile goals: The students have time to read as they enter the classroom and an additional 20 minutes of reading during center rotations.

2. Creating confidence for upcoming assessments: We are reviewing strategies and expectations using past ISTEP+ Applied skills activities.  This week we are working with 5th grade ISTEP activities.  The students are definitely growing confident.  I heard many comments today about how the activites are way too easy for 5th grade.

3. Working on individualized areas of weakness: Compass Learning Activity Folders have been tailor made to fit the needs of your individual student. We have been focusing on these lessons as we work on individual needs.
