Tuesday, May 26

Wow!  This is the hardest post I have had to write!  I am sitting alone in my room, without the smiles that brighten each of my days.  Knowing that the kids will not be returning...well, it makes my heart ache.  They are a big part of my life and I will miss them all terribly!!

At the same time, all I can do is smile with PRIDE at what great students we are sending to CBIS!  Your students will bring such laughter, love and value to CBIS. CBIS is ready for them and they are most definitely ready for CBIS!

With all that said, I just want to reinforce our sincere saying, "Once TEAM33, Always TEAM33!" So if ever you have the chance to stop back by the classroom or join in on a future TEAM33 activity, please don't hesitate!!  You will always be welcome. Please keep me updated on how your summer goes.  I LOVE getting emails!

If you didn't get a good look at the 4th Grade Video, you can check it out at the following link: https://studio.stupeflix.com/v/uRvZQwk9wqsa/

Wednesday May 13

Whew!! Except for a few students finishing up, we are done testing!!!  Everyone is relieved!  Be sure to ask your child how they did on Reading and Math NWEA.

In order to get all of our testing in, we had to reschedule our Desktop sale.  For the most part the kids were good with it, because they had another day to round up things for the sale.  All students are aware they should be getting your permission before bringing any thing in to sell. We will have the sale early in the morning before leaving on the trip.

Tonight students should have their socks and sneakers out ready to go for in the morning.  If they are bringing a sack lunch they should have it packed with their name on it.  Remember to use disposable containers.  You may also want to spread on some sunscreen before you walk out the door in the morning.

Monday, May 11

Today we tie-dyed T-shirts for the 4th grade promotion day.  We have a few more plans for the shirts before they are ready to wear though.  So please follow the steps below.

Tonight:  Take it out of the bag. Remove the rubber bands. Put it in a safe place to air dry.
Wednesday: Soak it in the sink with warm water and a cup of vinegar. Ring and let air dry.
Thursday:  Return the shirt to school.

Thank you for your help and let me know if you have any questions.

Thursday, May 7

Another great day in TEAM33. We did not do any testing today!!...Well, ok, maybe we did a Reading Counts Quiz or two, but definitely no ISTEP!

Instead we worked on RESEARCH and READING!.  At this point we are back on track with our Research.  Students have had plenty of time to complete their Visual Plan. They should be able to show you both their Visual Plan and their Travel Report along with their map and direction by taking you to their online Google Classroom.  Most students are well into beginning work on their visual.
It is great to see so much excitement about the poster boards, slide shows, and dioramas.  I know the presentations are going to be spectacular!!

It was also great to see all the students who are meeting their reading goal by reading the YHBA books.  If your child hasn't met their goal yet, please encourage them to stay up with their reading nightly.  IT IS NOT TO LATE!  All students still have the opportunity to go to the Celebration Field trip.

Just a few quick note: First, I will not be at school tomorrow.  My husband and I are celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary by going on a retreat to Nashville, Tennessee.  I am sad to be out of the classroom but looking forward to some quality time with my best friend.  If you have any needs tomorrow, please address them to the front office.

Secondly, I want to take a minute to say thank you. I have been showered with gifts all week for Teacher Appreciation week and I definitely feel appreciated.  Gift cards, flowers, schools supplies, Diet cokes and more.  And as always, my very favorite are all the heart felt hugs.  Thank you!!

The last form is by invitation only.  Many students are bringing home the invitation today.  Be sure to ask your student about their invitation.  If they don't have one, ask how close they are to meeting their reading goal?  We hope everyone ends up with the invitation.  There is still time to read!!
